man, i'm so damn tired now, but today's CIP was so fun! i went to somerset at 2, and i was given about 10 bears and about 8 post-it pads to sell. the persons-in-charge thought that me and shara were 'innocent looking', so they told us to go to centrepoint. man, i think i repeated myself over a hundred times, and we walked up and down the road outside centrepoint at least 50 times. i kept saying, 'would you like to donate to the school pocket money fund?', and i said it so fast sometimes that i didn't even know what i was saying, cos everyone started walking faster when they saw us holding donation tins.
there were a few different kinds of reactions when we went up to people.
- shakes head vigorously, meaning 'i don't want to donate'
- looks at us, but nothing done
- says 'i have already donated just now'
- pretends not to see or hear us and just walks away
- stops to listen, and then says no
- nods vigorously (does that mean 'i want to donate' or 'i have already donated'?)
- stops by to donate
- buys either the bear or the post-its
- asks loads of questions (like 'what is this for?', 'what school are you from' and so on) before donating
the largest amount donated was $10, while the smallest amount was about 5 cents. at 6 we were left with about 10 bears(including the bears that shara got) and 2 post-it pads. we sold more post-its as everyone who donated $2 got a post-it. i tell you, the post-its are so nice, and the teddies are so cute! i think i'm going to buy them next week. i still have to go next week to 'bu' for last weeek, cos i didn't go last week. remember to go to orchard to support me and the straits times school pocket money fund ok?
